"I'm Taurus, so I'm doomed to be stubborn and lazy"
NO!!!!
Let’s bust that Taurus myth, shall we?
Taurus is ruled by Venus.
Venus is thoroughly self-focused.
Yes, she likes to be in a 1:1 relationship. But when she takes a lover, she takes him for her own benefit - not for his (contrary to what you might have heard)
Venus knows exactly what she wants, never holding back out of shame or fear. But it’s not her job to make it happen (that’s the work of Mars).
Taurus represents Venus in sensual mode, relishing physical comfort and sensory delight in the body.
But, like all signs of the zodiac, our natural expression of the Taurean superpowers usually falls foul of the systems of oppression within which we were all raised.
Sensory delight and physical comfort are incompatible with working all the daylight hours to make a profit for The Man.
Knowing your own mind, and how to stand your ground are incompatible with being easily and quickly pushed into doing what the powers that be want you to do.
A superb talent for tenacity gets interpreted as "stubborn" when what YOU want doesn't match what THEY want, because you prioritising your own desires is incompatible with being a well-behaved, compliant girl.
Taurus is not easily swayed, so the more those around you push, the more you stand your ground - which they interpret as pushing back, even if all you’re doing is simply standing there.
We are all owner/operators of brains which have been wired with the old patriarchy, colonialist rules about who ought to hold power, who can be trusted, and who belongs where.
It’s so easy for us to start mistrusting our own Taurean nature.
"You want to put your own pleasure first? How dare you!"
"You know what you want? How vulgar!"
"You enjoy sensory pleasure? How sinful!"
"You're taking time off? Shocking, get back to work!"
We Taureans are pleasure-seeking, comfort-loving goddesses.
Indolence is our superpower - the antithesis of the dude-bro hustle, the 'get it done fast!', the 'get out of your comfort zone' vibe.
Indolence, castigated as ‘laziness’, is a powerful inspiration for working smarter, not harder.
Many years ago, I was angry with my mother for being so much more well-organised and efficient than I - until she told me it’s because she’s fundamentally lazy, and had worked out how to do a lot less work.
Those hustle vibes aren’t inherently wrong. Some signs LOVE a good hustle (waves to Aries and Sagittarius).
But hustle is not the natural go-to Taurus style.
We can do it for short bursts, just like a bull can get up to top speed gallop when he needs to - but it’s not how we’re designed to function 24/7.
Capitalism and the patriarchy haaaaaate that.
And of course, since we've all been exposed to those hustle vibes, it’s not surprising we can end up with brains wired to the hustle.
That makes it REALLY hard to remember our own superpowers.
The power of strategic pleasure.
Practical laziness, as the antidote to overwork and workaholism.
Knowing our own mind, and sticking to it in the face of distraction.
Solid as a rock, not easily pushed around.
Slow to anger, but holy cow you’d better get out of the way when we’re riled up.
No wonder the patriarchy can't handle us in our natural state.

Hi Janette. I don't know much about astrology, but I am a Taurus and can relate to the feeling lazy and stubborn part. I don't do the whole hustle thing and am learning to accept that in the last few years. I can be quite stubborn, but am usually very quietly stubborn :D I will just "stand there" instead of doing something more dramatic.
I wrote an article about it a couple years ago - https://www.introverts-unite.net/immortality-with-less-sword-fighting
It's hard to go slowly in this world sometimes. It often feels like I'm being left behind. But slow is more my natural pace so I've started allowing that to be ok, good even. It feels much more sustainable though I still do worry at times that it's going to come back and bite me at some point.
